After CD is inserted, there is a clicking noise and then a whistling noise. This can last for up to 30 seconds. Then, the digital readout registers "no disc" or registers the CD track grid. This flashes but, will not continue to the play mode. This is the second Model 73 that I have owned with the same problems. The first "died" after a year and a half. The second died just after the warranty expired. Both CD players got very little use and with great care. I am the only person using the players. Arcam did replace the first player. The second is past the warranty.
