When I plug in this external disk drive, nothing h...

When I plug in this external disk drive, nothing happens on my computer...nothing on "My Computer" screen. I am running on Windows XP. I plugged two USB plugs into my extra Logix USB port and the other USB into the back of my computer. Now what?
