my player was working fine. the battery died so i ...

my player was working fine. the battery died so i plugged it in to charge but nothing happened. ive tried connecting it to my laptop but nothing happens. is there a way to reset it or some other trick im missing. ive left it on charge for about 24hours and still nothing happening.
