4 I have the B2200 Breadmaker and love it except it has the absolute most pathetic recipe book with it. I had to have my daughter copy her Oster recipes for me so I could have some decent recipes. What were you thinking Black & Decker?
4 The recipes in the B2200 manual are useless. But the breadmaker is OK. The recipes I use come from the Breadman booklet (I wonder if it is available somewhere online?) Basic White/French 1.5 loaf 1 1/8 cup water 1 1/2 Tbl vegetable oil 1 1/2 tsp salt 3 cups flour (all purpose or bread) 2 tsp dry yeast you can substitute oil with water

4 I was very excited to get my bread machine I went to make white bread and there is none in the manual. What am I to do with this machine now, we only eat white bread right now this machine is useless

4 We've tried several of the recipies in the book and they don't work. There's not enough liquid. Where's a recipe for french bread. or a loaf of real whole wheat? I need alot of working recipies. What hapened to the good reciepies from my last breadmaker ! I "ll really regret buying this machine if i don't get some working recipies

3 It is ridiculous that you don't have the manuals for your bread machines online! I wish I hadn't purchased this bread machine!

3 Also, note: in the older books, it points out that Canadian and American measurements are different, as is the quality of the flour. There used to be two sets of measurements in the books, now many of the books do not discriminate. :(

3 The recipes that are in the Black & Decker All Pro L2200 /L2300 Manuael are not sufficient or practical. I am looking for more receipes. It would have been nice to have a basic white and whole wheat recipe. I need to get a recipe book specific to the model that I have or I will have to return the machine back to the store and look at buying a different model. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Lesley Moser-Fidanza

3 Basic White 1 1/3 cups water or milk 2 tbsp oil or margarine 1 tsp salt 1 tbsp sugar 3 1/2 cups flour 1 tbsp yeast Been using this recipe for about 10 years...came with my original B&D bread maker...works in other machines as well! I substitute 1.5 cups of whole wheat flour and 2 cups white flour for variety.

3 I do not find the recipes in the manual for this breadmaker very family oriented. I need recipes for plain white or wholewheat bread. Where might I find some? I may have to return my bread maker if I cannot find recipes that are appropriate for the B2200 model, I may have to return it and get one that better suites my needs.

3 Can anyone tell me where to get the washers/ gaskets for the bottom of the hopper. These wear out and need to be food grade and take the temperature.

3 Received this machine as a christmas gift, i have tried everything to get it to produce a normal looking loaf, they don't rise in machine. I used to have the original BD machine 12 yrs ago and it was a no brainer and i loved it. This new machine they need to take off the market what a waste of time and money for the ingredients. Not worth the inconveince and frustration of having a dude for a machine

3 I agree....I did send a complaint and all I got was a message directing me to the "manual" which DOES NOT have white bread? DUH! I will try one more time with this machine and then it's going BACK! >:(

3 The thing is, you can GET the manual for free, but there is NO white bread recipe in it. :(

3 We tried a recipe from one of our second oldest machine, and the bread turned out a little better but I would not buy the machine again if that is what we get. Today we are going to try my FIRST breadmachine recipe (in which the machine looks identical to the first, but the model # is different and the ingredient amounts are also not quite the same) and if that doesn't work adequately, it is going back to the store. I will post the recipe if it turns out.

3 I was at Walmart the other day, and a lady had TWO of these machines in her cart. She was returning them, she and her daughter had gotten them for gifts and neither worked right. Makes you wonder how many of these are going back to the B&D company? Back to the drawing board! I suspect part of the problem is that the bread pail is no longer even on four sides; now two sides are wider. I bet it is just not cooking properly.

3 So, the B&D company sent me a recipe finally! But it was just about the same that I got from my old book. A few diff's: it says that there will be a 15 min delay.....didn't happen, my machine started right up! Second, it said the time would be 3:50, guess what, the machine on start up said 3:00, I suspect that the bread probs stem from a wonky timer. There is not enough time being given for the bread to rise, watch your machine to see if yours also does that!

3 I don't want to pay $50 for a bread dough "mixer" though, it's supposed to be a bread MAKER and I expect it to do that if that is the claim on the box. :( I did some research and found that most of the happy customers were those who bought Breadman machines....something to check out? ;)

3 The seal is bamaged at the bottom where the shaft goes through the hopper. Where can I get new gaskets that are Food grade and will take the temperature and stress.

2 Why is there no white bread receipe in the manual kinda hard to use my new machine.
2 I record all the loaves recipes that I make and evaluate the outcomes. In general I use less flour than the 5.5 cups that are specified in some of the manuals and slightly warmer liquid. I also will use active gluten on most flours other than the white and sometimes with the white so it is a bit softer and cuts better

2 We got this machine a week ago and have made probably about 16 loaves of bread now. The machine is GREAT! Ok the recipe book needs help, it's a little useless I'll admit. But with some common sense, imagination and the internet... all I can say is WOW!! It is so much better then our old B&D one (Which was like 20+ years old), loaves are HUGE and FLUFFY! I don't have words for how completely amazing it is.

2 The recipes could be improved; I found the French bread OK and the white sandwich bread not as good. For best results I make the dough outside the maker using the dough setting to finish the dough. I then bake loaves or buns in the oven. The bread maker is not flexible. I also can make a larger batch using the bread maker as a dough hopper only. To make the device truly functional it would need to be programmable as to mixing, rising and baking times to adjust for small changes in the ingredients.

2 Um, so you use a breadmachine to make the dough then bake in oven, what is the point? Might as well save your money and make it homemade from scratch! I'm not paying $50+ just to mix bread dough.

2 there is a basic white bread recipe in the book that comes with it its called "lunchbox sandwhich loaf"

1 Not all the recipes from an old machine will work with this one. We tried the white bread recipe from the old book and it didn't turn out. Likely because the size of the machine? Recipes in there sucked. I will likely buy Sunbeam or something else next time....also going to email the company with my complaint. >:(

1 I purchased the B2200 breadmaker at a garage sale; there is no manual or instructions; I am a divorced male without a clue how to begin using this machine----anyone able to provide directions?

1 Basic White 1 1/3 cups water or milk 2 tbsp oil or margarine 1 tsp salt 1 tbsp sugar 3 1/2 cups flour 1 tsp yeast I add all the wet ingredients, then the flour and lastly I make a hole in the top of the flour and put the yeast on top. I have found that the normal function on my B2500C works well. I had 2 other B&D machines that I returned. These were the cheaper models. Now I have the deluxe and it works great.

1 When I got my machine, the sales person advised me that one particular one came back all the time. I purchased the more expensive one and have had no problems with it. I suspect it is the lower quality one that is getting returned.

1 Just got machine (Dec 2010) and 1st time I used it I took one of my recipes, started with wet ingredients, then flour and then yeast in a hold in top of the flour. Chose 2 lb. loaf as it had 4-1/2 cups of flour, turned the machine on and waited. Yummmmmm! Book does suck re recipes, but am going to try one of the basic white shown above to see that goes. Pleased with the machine overall.

1 I use the standard one, which on my machine is 3 hours 10 minutes. My bread does not come out as high as it used to, so you may be right. At least with this machine, however, my bread does not overcook. Other models I have tried the crust comes out too hard. And yes, it does start up right away unless I put it on the delay setting.

1 The french bread is the best one in the book, it is cost effective, simple and well liked. For $50 the machine serves well as a dough hopper/mixer and first rise. I then rise again outside and bake in the oven

1 When you have arthritis in your hands this ideal whether you want to go the whole route or just do the mixing, then put it into the oven... I'll try the latter, as a)I am arthritic and b) I prefer a regular loaf shape rather than a large square one.
