I have several BRK CO512BN detectors in my home. One of them is having a problem. I'm trying to figure out what I should do. The thing chirps once every minute or so as if the battery needs to be replaced however I change the battery using new one from package and it stops for a few days then starts chirping again. The back of the alarm states that if the LED light is steady on RED that the detector is powered on AC. It is steady RED. The back of the alarm also states that if the alarm has failed that I should hear 3 chirps every 3 minutes or so which I don't at this time. The problem has been going on for about 4 weeks now and I've changed the battery (to new one from package) at least 5 times. Solution? Suggestions? Thanks Mark

5 Same thing happened with us. Called the gas company and they took it down. Nothing was wrong with anything but this CO detector.

5 I have the same chirping problem. I've vacumed the dust, replaced the batteries. and still have a chirping sound. I tried to find a replacement and realized that BRK no longer makes this model. They have square ones, but only one round model that is also a smoke detector. I don't need a smoke detector. Now I have to replace the base also. It sounds like a corporate scam. Why fix the same model when they can stop making it and manufacture different models.

0 If the unit still chirps after replacing the battery, try disconnecting from AC power, and vacuum unit with soft brush from a dust buster. Include vacuuming unit once per month in your cleaning routine. If unit still chirps discard and replace.
