MY SMOKE DETECTOR UNIT STARTED SOUNDING ON ITS OWN...

MY SMOKE DETECTOR UNIT STARTED SOUNDING ON ITS OWN. IT WILL BEEP FOR A FEW SECONDS (6-8 SECONDS??) THEN STOP FOR ABOUT 20 MINUTES IT SOUNDED AGAIN AND KEPT ON DOING THAT, SO MUCH SO I HAD TO DISCONNECT THE WIRE AND REMOVE THE BATTERY. LEAVING THE BATTERY IN IT WILL SOUND TOO, EVEN THE WIRE IS DISCONNECTED.

0 My spoke detector unit has started to do the same thing!! Very annoying ~ especially with 2 young kids. Did you have to get new ones???
