4 Try gently vacuuming with the upholstry brush attachment or blow out dirt with canned air nozzle 3 to 4 inches away fom components. If that does not work rub the battery terminals in detector with the eraser end on a wood pencil. Lastly try disconnecting the connector and then reconnecting it. If it stil makes noise, put the detetor in a cloth bag and hit it repeatedly with a heavy object. Then go out an buy a new one.

0 heard that they had problems with some batteries. They will replace units. If you use batteries other than everready they buldge or cause damage. A couple of news articles on internet. call company brk

0 On the smoke detector its self it states that you can use Everready (Energizer) or Duracell, Gold Peak, Rayovac, or Ultralife. I have already experienced the battery getting stuck with the Duracell. I think my problem was I put it in backwards. The bigger of the connectors on the battery needs to be facing towards the outter rim. And it has to be a fresh, new battery. I ended with Energizer. It just stopped beeping, its a wonderful sound.
