How do I access the temperature guage in the 1997 Buick Park Avenue?...

The needle in the temp guage inexplicably has gotten caught below the pin and will not move to indicate temperature. I would like to work on releasing it myself, if possible, but need instructions on how best to access it. I can't seem to find instructions online.
