We have a Cannon L170S fax/phone. I get an error message 0018 busy no signal when I try and send a fax what can I do?

5 Error 0018 is a "busy/no signal error." The other party's telephone may be busy or their fax machine turned off. Try: 1. Sending the fax at a different time. 2. Contact the other party directly to see that their machine is working. 3. Check your machine and make sure all the cords are plugged in properly and haven't been frayed.
