Question About Curtis DVD Player DVD5091UK

ive set it to come through my ps3 by putting the scart wires into the input holes (red and white) in the back of the speakers, i have perfect quality sound but i can't turn it down, the remote controls the dvd not the speakers so i cannot turn it down, any help will do, maybe putting the wires in differently might help, tell me asap, thank you
