Question About Electrolux Clothes Dryer EDE 405 M
Open Dryer's Door Latch...

I replaced the broken door latch with a new part Nr. 000001252005010. I closed the dryer's door but could not open it any more using the "open door" knob. Can you suggest some way to bypass the button & open that door? My e.mail address is smaaps@atlantic.net

0 Hello, i have just read your request and i hope its not too late for a suggestion. There is only one way to bypass the button on the front panel but you have to remove the cover of the dryer. In order to do so, firstly unplug it from the power socket and then you have to ufasten the 2 screws at the back and then push the cover backwards for about 7 cm to release it. Now, looking from the back side of the panel, there is a cable connected to the Open Door Button which if you pull it a bit, then the door will be released. You may need to regulate a bit. Take care not to break this cable. Good luck !
