I would like to repair the Electrical cord recoil on my Electrolux canister vacuum and I am not sure where to start to take the canister apart. The only screws I can see are under the lid on the bag cover, and I am concerned that I will break something trying to pry the rubber molding off. Any help from anyone who has taken on of these apart would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

0 Pry the rubber off of both sides and then stand the unit on it's front, where the hose goes, and pull the gray plastic strips all the way out. I have repaired mine today, part of the housing was. I used a HOT screwdriver to re-melt it back together.

0 I took my vaccum apart years ago. I believe that there are screws under the side bumper strips. They are pried and pulled out.
