Question About Firex Smoke Alarm FX 1218
smoke alarm removed - ceiling is beeping - why?...

My smoke alarm started beeping (usually denoting weak battery). Smoke alarm is wired into 120V also. I replaced battery, and replaced smoke detector, and still beeped. I took down smoke detector, and beeping is still emenating from ceiling where smoke detector was - how can this be? There doesn't seem to be any alarm electronics in the ceiling - just wires for the circuit. I'm stumped - what is going on?

0 I just got on the internet to lookup the problem that I am having. It is the same problem that you are having, weird. Replaced battery still same problem. I going to swich with another one to see if it moves with the alarm.

0 Ours is doing this too!!! Started in the middle of the night. I also removed the removed the unit, but the hard wires in the ceiling are periodically beeping. Help. What do we do to stop this?
