How to replace battery?...

I cannot get the battery out of the unit to replace it. Please send me a manual or tell me the trick to get the old battery out

0 Unit has gone off about same time for 2 days. Changed batteries. Very puzzling. Both smke and Co alerts sound. Had to remove and reinstall batteries to stop the sound. No manual found.
