Any idea why the freezer has decided to stop working? The fridge part works just fine.

0 Hi mpetrie2, I am happy to assist you! Do you hear anything running in the machine compartment? What type of airflow is the condenser fan providing (remove the toe grille, located above the drain pan typically on the bottom right-hand side)? If you do not hear the compressor, it usually means that your refrigerator has a faulty compressor or a sealed system issue. There is a vent towards the back of your appliance that circulates air from the freezer section to the fresh food section. If you would, make sure that the vent is not blocked so that air can travel from the vent down to the refrigerated part. If this vent is blocked by too many items in the freezer it will cause the refrigerator to work harder. This causes the temperature to be colder in the freezer and keeps the air from flowing down to the refrigerated section. This will decrease the temperature in the freezer, allowing for ice cream to be pliable and the fresh food section to become colder. Should you find these suggestions unsuccessful I would recommend contacting a professional to move forward accurately. Best regards!
