My (TC49A) smoke alarm system is at least 30 years old. Lately, the 2nd floor alarm has begun to "chirp" at odd hours during the night for no apparent reason. Sometimes it will chirp when I walk past or raise my hand to it. I have cleaned it and it still chirps. Any suggestions?

0 I'd recommend replacing all your TC49A alarms, since smoke detectors (mostly ionization types) are supposed to be replaced every 10 years.
