I've tried the obvious externals; checked the fuse, sockets etc. However, the machine won't turn on at all - no lights, noises, anything! is this a known fault? The unit's only 15 months old but Hotpoint won't help!

0 I have exactly the same prob, 14 mnths old so just out of guarantee, no power at all, no lights..no nothing. I have checked the fuse, trip switch etc also I will be taking mine apart in the next few days to see if I can track the problem down. Let me know if you managed to sort yours out. Thanks.

0 Called a bloke out to have a look (only charged a tenner). he thought it might be the main power board and said it would be cheaper to call hotpoint out. did that, & it turned out to be the thermostat.
