5 I have found that with power outages it can effect the computer in the device. I live in TN and we were advised to buy protection plans on all of our electronics by the electric company because when there is a quick flicker or an outage it can fry the computer components in the device. Even if it is plugged into a surge protector it can fry the device. Our directv company has also given us a insurance policy on our tvs because of these surges or flickers of electric
