Just bought a ford ka, the stereo in it is a jvc k...

Just bought a ford ka, the stereo in it is a jvc kd-g342, it lights up and displays if i put a cd in it but there is no sound at all coming from the speakers, not even a hiss. Im not technical at all but would appreciate any answers for my problem. Do i need to call someone in to fix it.... Hope not
