My electric dryer looses all power when it is started. I checked the breaker and outlet and have 220v. One side of the cord was burned and I replaced the cord. When I started again the same thing happened, it completely shut down immediately. I disconnected the heater and thermostat on the heater can and it will stay on but blows cold air. I checked the element, thermostats and thermal fuse and they have continuity, but I don't know what the proper reading should be.
