I live in Lowell, MA and the channels are now list...

I live in Lowell, MA and the channels are now listed as 2-1, 4-1, etc and my Magnavox will not pick up these channels when I run the auto-tuner. Do I need a converter box? Can I run cable through my Magnavox DVD Player? Help, I cant watch TV now
