MY MODEL IS VRA431AT AND I JUST HOOKED IT UP AFTER...

MY MODEL IS VRA431AT AND I JUST HOOKED IT UP AFTER GETTING IT FROM A FRIEND..I WAS PREPARED TO RECORD..PUT IN TAPE,PRESSED RECORD BUTTON,AFTER 20 SECONDS IT CLICKS OFF AND THE # 1 STARTS FLASHING..HELP!!!
