Question About Nighthawk Carbon Monoxide Alarm kn-COB-DP

I have questions about our alarm. When there is actually carbon monoxide in your house does the alarm continue beeping. My alarm beeped once and a few minutes later beeped again. Then I cleaned it up some and rehung and no more beeps. Do you think I should call an emergency service.
