Question About Nighthawk Carbon Monoxide Alarm None
beeps in every 20 seconds...

my detector is KN-COB-HW. It beeps every 20 seconds starting from this afternoon. any thoughts? thanks.

5 Interestingly we had the same problem on the same date no less. I checked the Kiddee web site and while there is nothing mentioned about this model, other hard wired models start chirping every 30 seconds after 7 years to indicate they no longer are working. I have a portable CO detector that didn't alert so I purchased a replacement model yesterday and installed it - it works fine, no chirping. I'm chalking this up to the 7 year 'end-of-life' Ours has been installed for slightly over 7 years but I figured there was no other explanation bc there wasn't a CO issue in the area where the beeping detector was. A new hard wired detector runs about $25. So if your detector is on or about 7 years old (plugged in for ~7 years); it's probably at end of life. You may just want to purchase and install all new ones at the same time so you don't have to worry for another 7 years.
