0 I have this video camera, and yes you can view tapes from the camcorder to the TV. You need either the factory battery charger / AV unit, or the small adapter that plugs into the funny-looking port near the bottom right of the tape cover. On this adapter is a switch that allows the camera to output video or input video to record to tape.
