My remote for model SRT22119B does not function. H...

My remote for model SRT22119B does not function. Have changed batteries and it did not help.no light comes out of the remote. Is the problem the remote or the receiver of remote signals. If the answer is get a new remote, what kind should I buy. Pleas advise. Thanks. ppmdim@aol.com
