Sylvania SMP1036 Mp3 player won't unlock....

I locked my SMP1036 mp3 player and now cannot unlock it. I power on and after the name SYLVANIA flashes a few times it turns off again. I have tried pressing 'M'ode button to unlock. I have also tried replacing the batteries and still cannot get it to stay on.
