I having problem to set up the answer machine

0 I bought the phone which includes two satellites and about six months later a loud humming noise is present every time I connect with a number or a message is received on the answering machine. Also the display is completely unreadable. Does anyone know how to fix this problem? Thanks.

0 Thanks for the reply, but the phone line was the first thing I checked. It appears to be an interference problem common to this phone. I installed a friends Panasonic satellite system and the connection is clear. Also my corded phones and Sony Cordless phone are clear and interference free. Looking up the GE phone on the web I found a lot of complaints about this model, in particular the humming and loss of display. I plan to junk this system and buy a Panasonic. Thanks again for your input.
