I thought our battery was dead, so we bought 2 new...

I thought our battery was dead, so we bought 2 new batterys and charged them up and put them on the camera, but as soon as we start to use it appears to use the power up in one minute any suggestions we have lost out manual in moving house any suggestions Thank you Elaine
