When I turn on my second-hand (ten year old?) Philips Matchline TV the light turns red, then green momentarily when I try setting the channel, then red again and starts flashing continuously. This happened after the TV made several loud 'snaps' and the picture went. In the past the TV set has 'snapped' but recovered immediately. This tends to occur on days when the atmosphere is humid. Is this triggering the problem?
