what does it mean when your mp3 player tells you usable memory exceeded delete files then shuts off. but it want let me delete

0 I am having the same issue of my mp3 shutting down saying that my usable memory is exceeded, please remove a few files. Does anyone know how to fix this? I try to remove some files, but it won't let me pull any up from my computer.
