1 I sent an email to RCA support which is actuallyh Audiofox support. Here's what they sent: I suggest updating the firmware on your player. Please follow all instructions carefully for updating your player. 1. Download and open the firmware upgrade . You must log in first to access it. In order to download the firmware updater software, you must first log in for access. 2. Hold the button down which has the + and - sign and arrows for 15 seconds 3. Attach MP3 player to the PC while holding play/pause button 4. This should start the firmware upgrade (While the firmware updater is running, if the player is not recognized or the firmware updater does not start, disconnect the player but do NOT close the updater. Now reconnect the player to the PC while holding the play/pause button. This should start the updater and place an icon under My computer for the player.) 5. If the player has the latest firmware download go to the website anyway and download the firmware upgrade. This will bring up the easy rip software. 6. The software will prompt to upgrade. Click yes and upgrade the player. 7. Possible an error message of “can’t write to disk” will pop up 8. Firmware upgrade will end with error do not close 9. Go to My Computer find the drive that holds the MP3 player 10. Right click scroll down to format, format the player 11. You may need to run firmware upgrade again
