The dryer I have, I am not sure of the model number as I am not at home at the moment but it is a Roper. It was squeaking loudly for quite a long time. Yesterday I laid down to sleep and the dryer was going. I woke up and the dryer had stopped about half way though the drying cycle. I went to push the start button but nothing. I do not hear a humming noise as I figure I would unless it could be the motor. Will it stop if the belt has broken?

0 What I mean by stop if the belt has broken is.. would I not get some sort of sound or is it possible it would just stop dead like it did from just the belt?
