5 There are a number of reasons as to why a scale will show different weights. The first thing to check would be the location of the scale. It should be placed on a level floor and not on carpet. If it is on carpet, it will not be weigh a person properly. Once the location is chosen, it is best to leave the scale in place. When taking a weight, it is usually best to do this at the same time every day under the same circumstances. For example, weigh yourself every morning before getting dressed for the day. If you were to then weigh yourself after a large dinner with all of your clothes and shoes on, the weights will be quite different. If there are still varying weights under the same conditions, there is a problem with the scale. Since the unit is fairly new, it should be covered by the manufacturer and can be replaced. New scales do not offer any form of adjustments, so it is best to get a replacement if it is indeed not functioning properly.
