Question About Schwinn Bicycle AL 1020

I just replaced the rear brake lever assembly for a Schwinn AL 1020. After hooking everything up when turned on all the lights come on but the motor won't go. Is there something I've missed? Is there a setup for the sensor in the brake lever? I can be contacted at nfcom@yahoo.com
