Question About Scotts Lawn Mower S1642, S1742, S2046
engine quits going up hill...

Scott 1642 stalls going up hill. Sideways down etc runs fine. Something stalls the engine on an upgrade.

5 Here is what I found for the Belt: John Deere part/item number: GX10176 Measures: 145.078-inch effective length* 0.559-inch width *Effective length is the outside circumference under tension found a replacement here: http://www.mfgsupply.com/m/c/12-10630.html

5 The info I got for my Scotts S2046 mower belt was perfect. I still need a drive belt GX10065 Thanking you Brendan from Ireland

5 I have a Scotts S2046 which will need new belts soon. The problem is that I am living in Ireland and having a problem tryiing to cross reference the numbers. There are plenty of John Deer lawn mowers here but the Scotts number does not match. Thankingyou Brendan

3 Had a problem like this. Traced it to 'gas'. On mine S2046 the gas wouldn't flow properly when going straight up the incline and sputter/die. Got a new gas cap and pump and that seemed to solve it.

0 Found this site: http://www.ssbtractor.com/wwwboard/view_all.cgi?bd=lawn&msg=17780. Has some chatter in it about belts particular.."no longer make the GX10065. The replacement is a JD GX10851."
