Switching fron Lp to 45...

Hello, I just received my PSF5 and I figured out how to play LP's but I am having problems figuring out how to play 45's. I have set the speed correctly but I noticed that there is a switch for diameter size -that will not budge when I try to change it to smaller diameter - what am I doing wrong?
