5 There is no water filter in the unit. Whoever installed the unit should have put one in the line somewhere between the valve and the fridge. But there may not be one. Follow the line back from the bottom of the fridge until you locate it, or get to the saddle valve. Generic ice maker filter cartridges can be found at any home store for about $10. Installing them or replacing them is rather trivial, as long as you know where the shut off saddle valve is located.
