5 This happens to me at work a lot. There are A couple things that could be off. One is make sure the power cord going from the blood pressure cuff to the machine runs in a straight line, running along the upper part if your arm to your Pointer finger. Also the should be written instructions on the cuff letting you know which edge of the cuff will be touching your elbow and the other your shoulder. The small type is hard to read and easy to miss. Last, make sure the cuff is set to read out of 180(nothing else like 130 or 150). Hopefully that helps!
