when i power up my labtop it only goes to the screen that states either an error occured and do i wish to start up from last known operation, mdos mode, etc. i pressed enter starting it normally, but it keeps returning back to same screen. then i let the remaining time clock run to automatically open up windows and it keeps returning back to the window that displays lots of words that display mdos mode etc. then i accidently hit the enter and a box popped up with about 5 selections which one of the selections was asking about mdos mode etc, i accidently hit password now i am locked out my labtop. its asking for BIOS password. i am the original owner of this labtop, i never made any passwords for the labtop therefore its got to be a manufacture code. i have no instructions and i am locked out my labtop. can you please help me!

5 I have taken the entire thing apart trying to figure this out, but turns out I didn't have to. Take off the back panel (bottom, opposite side of the CD-Rom) and find the cmos battery - flat yellow disk, 1in in diameter. Disconnect its cable from the motherboard for a minute or so and plug it back in. You will have to enter the bios on boot, set the correct time and save-exit. You should be good to go.
