Question About Whirlpool Trash Compactor TU 8000 Series
Whirlpool TU 8000 Trash Compactor...

The ram keeps falling off. I put it back in position and slide it to the "locked position," but then it falls off after a day of use. Are there one or more set screws that keep it from sliding and hence falling off?

1 The "ram" is also referred to as the "compactor head." This is the heavy unit that is pushed down into the trash container by the pistons.

1 It sounds like it is slipping but not moving down.
