The thermometer is reading 55 degrees when the hou...

The thermometer is reading 55 degrees when the house is more like 80 (its summer in GA) degrees. To get the AC to run, I have to put the temperature down to 54. What do I need to happen to have the thermometer reset so that it is more accurately reading current temperatures in the house?

0 Did you ever get an answer? We have the same problem except ours shows 10 (in GA in summer) which means the a/c won't run.
