Chapter 1: Introduction
The DL451 Modular I/O is a three-unit (3U) high 19” rack unit that provides connection
of up to 24 audio inputs/outputs. It has a user-configurable modular

3x8 XLR format
that can be configured as any combination of analogue mic/line in, analogue out and
digital in/out (AES/EBU). Musical instrument digital interface (MIDI) and general
purpose input/output (GPIO) connections are supplied as standard. The digital audio
interface is via dual-redundant AES50 connections. Five DL451’s are supplied with each
XL8 Live Performance System.
