6. When the name of your PC appears in the Kies via Wi-Fi
list on your phone, tap the name.
7. When the Wi-Fi connection request box appears on the
PC, tap Yes.
8. The phone and PC are now connected. The phone’s
name should appear in the Connected devices area in
the Kies software on the PC.
You can now use the Kies software to transfer files, upgrade
the phone’s firmware, etc.
Nearby devices
This option allows you to share your media files with nearby
devices using DLNA.
1. From the Home screen, tap ➔
Settings
➔
More
settings
➔

2. Tap the
File sharing
checkbox to turn File sharing on.
The Nearby devices icon appears at the top of the
screen and your phone scans for available devices.
The following options are available:
Shared contents: Select the content to share.
Device name: Select to rename your phone, then tap Save.
Access control: Select Allow all or Only allowed device.
Allowed device list: Tap to open, then tap the names of
available devices to add a checkmark and enable sharing.
Not-allowed devices list: Shows devices that are not
accessible.
Download to: Select a storage location for downloaded files.
Upload from other devices: Choose whether to Always
accept, Always ask, or Always reject.
