Storage location is
almost or entirely full
■ Delete some or all pictures and videos in the storage location
(page 14).
■ Transfer pictures and videos to the computer (page 16), then delete
pictures and videos in the storage location (page 14).
■ Insert a memory card (page 4), then change the image storage
location, if necessary (see table on page 32).
Battery life is short
■ Make sure the correct battery type is loaded (page 2).
■ Wipe the contacts with a clean, dry cloth (page 69) before inserting
a battery in the camera.
■ Insert a new or charged battery (page 2).
You cannot take a
picture
■ Turn the camera off, then on again. Make sure the camera is not in
Favorites mode.
■ Depress shutter button completely down (page 5).
■ Insert a new or charged battery (page 2).
■ Memory full. Transfer pictures to the computer (page 16), delete
pictures from the camera (page 14), change image storage
location, or insert a new card.
■ Wait until processing or saving function e.g., bursts, video, edits,
formatting, and deleting is complete
Error message
appears on EVF/LCD
screen
■ Turn the camera off.
■ Remove memory card from the camera.
■ Remove the battery and wipe the contacts with a clean, dry cloth
(page 71).
■ Insert a new or charged battery (page 2).
■ If all else fails, get customer support help (page 59).
Memory card not
recognized or camera
freezes with card.
■ Card may be corrupted. Format card in camera (see table on
page 36).
■ Use another memory card.
