Backing Up Your Newly Migrated Databases
The COMMAND/POST 4.1 databases can be backed up to either a tape or a disk file. The
logical device name is agcdump. If this device is defined as a disk file, the following files will
be created.
To back up your newly migrated databases to tape:
If the agcdump device is defined as a tape drive, the following message is displayed:
1. Perform one of the following steps:
If your dump device is a tape drive, insert a tape, type y, and press Return.
If you are backing up to a disk file, type y and press Return.
The master, sybsystemprocs, and agc databases are dumped. The following message and
prompt are displayed:
2. Perform one of the following steps:
If you backed up to tape, remove and label the tape, type y, and press Return.
If you backed up to a disk file, type y and press Return.
The following prompt is displayed:
Type y to delete the files. The obsolete COMMAND/POST binaries are deleted.
Type n to keep the files. The obsolete COMMAND/POST binaries are kept.
3. Proceed to “Backing Up Your Newly Generated COMMAND/POST Configuration Files”
on page 32.
master db default file name
sybsystemprocs default file name + .procs
agc default file name + .agc
Please insert a tape in <dump device>
Press Y when ready [Y] ->
Please remove the tape, label as 'COMMAND/POST Database Dump date'
Press Y when you have removed the tape[Y] ->
Do you want these files deleted [y]?
