Navigatetothefolderyouwishtoshareoverthenetworkandselectit,donot
enterthefolder.
Rightclickonthefolder,andasmallmenuwillappearnearthemousepointer.
Select“Properties”fromthismenu.
Apropertiesboxwillnowappear.Inthisboxclickonthetablabelled
“Sharing”.
Onceinthesharingtabclickonthe“AdvancedSharing”button.Thisshould
bringuptheAdvancedSharingwindow.
Inthiswindow,pleaseensurethatthetickboxfor“Sharethisfolder”hasbeen
ticked.Thiswillenableothercomputerstoaccessmediafilesfromit.
Youmayalsowanttosetpermissionsforthefolder.Thiswillalloworprevent
usersfrommakingchangestothemediafiles.
Tosetpermissions,clickonthe“Permissions”button.Thiswillbringupthe
Permissionswindow.
Inthiswindowwillbedisplayedthepermissions,FullControl,Changeand
Read.
FullControl:Givestheuserfullcontrolofthefolderscontent.This
optionishighlyadvisednottoallowthisoption.
Change:Thisoptionallowsausertomodifythecontentsofthe
sharedfolder.
Read:Thisoptionallowsausertoaccessthemediafilesonly.
Ticktheappropriatetickboxesbestsuitedforyourrequirements.
