MicrosoftSQLServer2000–Makesurethatthedatabaseuserhasthedb_owner
fixeddatabaseroleontheVirtualCenterdatabaseandtheMSDBdatabase.The
db_ownerroleontheMSDBdatabaseisrequiredforinstallationandupgradeonly.
Youcanrevokethisroleaftertheinstallationorupgradeprocessis
completed.
Do notgranttheSystemAdministratorsserverroletothedatabaseuser.However,
iftheSystemAdministratorsrolewaspreviouslygrantedwhilethedatabasewas
usedwithVirtualCenterServer2.0.x,donotrevoketheSystemAdministrators
role.Leaveitasis.
MicrosoftSQLServer2005–Makesurethatthedatabaseloginhaseitherthe
sysadminserverroleorthedb_ownerfixeddatabaseroleontheVirtualCenter
databaseandontheMSDBdatabase.Thedb_ownerroleontheMSDBdatabaseis
requiredforinstallationandupgradeonly.Youcanrevokethisrole
afterthe
installationorupgradeprocessiscomplete.
