VirtualCenterServer–ThisserverinstallsonaWindowsmachine,eitherphysical
orvirtual,tocentrallymanageyourVMwareESX Serverhosts.The
VirtualCenter ServerallowstheuseofadvancedVMwareInfrastructurefeatures
suchasVMwareDRS,VMware HA,andVMotion™.
AVMwareSDKWebserviceisinstalledwiththeVirtualCenter Server.

VirtualCenterPlugins–Optionalapplicationsthatprovideadditionalcapabilities
andfeaturestoVirtualCenter.Generally,pluginsarereleasedseparately,installon
topofVirtualCenter,andcanbeupgradedindependently.Youcaninstallserver
componentsofpluginsonthesamecomputerwheretheVirtualCenter Server
resides,oronaseparateone.Aftertheserver
componentofapluginisinstalled,
youcanactivatetheplugin’sclientcomponent,whichenhancestheVI Clientwith
appropriateUIoptions.
