Adding programs directly from the Internet
First, you need to determine what your phone and
processor type are so that you know which version of the
software to install.
1. From the
Start
menu, tap
Settings
System
tab
About
.
2. In the
Version
tab, make a note of the information in
the
Processor
field.
3. Download the program to your phone straight from the
Internet using Internet Explorer on your phone.
You may see a single *.xip, *.exe, or *.zip file, a
setup.exe file, or several versions of files for different
device types and processors. Be sure to select the
program designed for the Pocket PC and your unit
processor type.
4. Read any installation instructions, Read Me files, or
documentation that comes with the program. Many
programs provide special installation instructions.
5. Tap the file, such as a *.xip or *.exe file. The installation
wizard will begin. Follow the directions on the screen.
6. Once installation is complete, tap
Start
Programs
,
and then tap the program icon to open it.
Adding programs to the Start menu
Once you have installed new programs on your phone, you
can add any of them to the
Start
menu so that you can
quickly open them from the Today screen. You can register
up to 7 programs in the
Start
menu.
